Family says youth losses 41 blood points as doctors fail to stitch his blood vessel
Srinagar, Jun 28: Medicos while exhibiting highest level of negligence, allegedly left a blood vessel of an injured youth open at SMHS hospital Srinagar for two days, resulting in heavy loss of blood, thereby leaving him in midst of great danger.
The youth identified as Ubaid Manzoor Lone, son of Manzoor Ahmad Lone of Nadihal Baramulla had sustained bullet injury after forces allegedly opened fire in the area on Jun 25, 2018.
Reports said that forces fired into a group of youth at Nadihal in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district on Monday, injuring a youth, Ubaid Manzoor of Nadihal. Ubaid received a bullet in thigh. The injured youth was immediately rushed to District Hospital Baramulla where from he was shifted to SMHS.
The family of the youth said that the doctors at SMHS allegedly kept the youth’s nerve open, which resulted in heavy loss of blood to the youth. “He has lost at least 41 points of blood so far from past two days. Ubaid had 15 points while as the family arranged more 26 points for him, which he has lost,” Nazir Ahmad Lone, Ubaid’s uncle told Kashmir News Service (KNS).
After a heavy loss of blood, the family said that the doctors at SMHS referred the youth to SKIMS for specialized treatment where he was put on ventilator.
Nazir told KNS that the doctors at SMHS referred Ubaid to SKIMS on Wednesday evening and his condition is deteriorating.
The family further stated that there were no clashes in Nadihal area when their beloved was hit by bullet.
When contacted, Medical Superintendent SMHS, Dr Saleem Tak told KNS that he has no information about the issue. “I will get the records by evening or tomorrow and will share accordingly,” he said.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Tehreek-e-Istiqlal led by its chairman, Ghulam Nabi Waseem visited the hospital and enquired about the health condition of injured youth.
Waseem as per the statement issued to KNS expressed solidarity with the injured youth and his family and also prayed for his speedy recovery. (KNS)
