Says ‘CS headed committee doing nothing to resolve pressing issues of SSA teachers’
Langate, Jun 28: President Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) Abdul Qayoom Wani on Thursday warned Vohra administration of intensifying street protests if it didn’t immediately delink the salaries of SSA teachers and disburse their salaries according to 7th pay commission recommendations.
According to the KNS correspondent Raja Akbar, addressing an educational conference of Zone Mawer in Langate area of frontier district Kupwara organised to bid farewell to some teachers on their superannuation, Wani said SSA teachers and head teachers have intensely increased the enrollment in SSA schools and work tirelessly to provide quality education to the children of poor masses in rural and urban areas of the state.
Reminding Vohra administration that a committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to address the issue of delinking of salaries of SSA teachers and disbursement of their salaries as per 7th pay commission recommendations has not done anything to address the issues so far and if the stalemate continues for more time the teachers will again hit streets the responsibility of which shall lie on the government but not the teachers.
