Srinagar, Jun 17: The scientific fraternity of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir are strongly condemn the killing of rising Kashmir editor-in-chief Shujaat Bukhari by unknown gunmen in Srinagar.
In a statement issued to KNS, President SSTA, Dr S.A. Dar said the killing of such a fearless journalist is a huge loss for J&K in general and for media fraternity in particular. SSTA is shocked and saddened by this mindless terror attack that claimed the life of senior and fearless journalist in the holy month of Ramadan. Such killing inhumanity is unpardonable. He was an upright, intellectual, a fearless journalist who always upholds the truth and above all a selfless human who was deeply concern for the Kashmir cause. He was the voice who always endorses the path of peace and reconciliation. He was always fought fearlessly for justice and peace in the Jammu & Kashmir.
On the behalf Scientist of SKUAST-K, SSTA also express heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family members, friends and rising Kashmir staff members. We pray for his magfirat and place in jannat.
SSTA demands a speedy investigation in the heinous crime so that the killers are identified and punished at the earliest. It is responsibility of GOI and state government to ensure in future such ugly killing should not happen and appeals to give proper security to media fraternity so that they can discharge their duties without any fear of violence.
