Tral, June 06: Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers on Wednesday staged a meeting in Tral under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) against the government for failing to fulfil their demands.
The teachers who were the part of meeting said that government had earlier assured that all the issues related to SSA teachers will be redressed soon but ‘nothing has been done so far in this regard.’
In this connection, dozens of SSA teachers on directions of JKTF, assembled at Dilnag Park in Tral on Wednesday and discussed many issues in favour of their long pending demands.
The teachers were demanding streamlining of salaries of SSA teachers that too fully from centre to state as according to them their 90% salary comes from centre and only 10% from state. Besides that they demand implementation of transfer policy, regularization policy and release of pending salaries.
The protesting teachers said they are working in far off villages of Tral and despite that the government is forcing them to face hardships as government failed to take up their issues.
They said that their struggle to get their rights will continue and appealed the government to fulfill their demands at an earliest to mitigate their problems.
