Srinagar, June 11: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) from Haryana DP Vats has said that the ‘stone pelters in Jammu and Kashmir should be shot dead.’
“I read about the withdrawal of cases against stone-pelters but I think those pelting stones should be shot dead,” reports quoted Vats as having said.
On June 7, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who was on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir to review the security situation in the state, announced that all stone-pelting cases against children in Jammu and Kashmir will be withdrawn.
On a related note, the Jammu and Kashmir government had approved the withdrawal of cases against the first offenders of stone pelting in February this year. (KNB)
