Suspected Militants Beat up SPOs in South Kashmir

Pulwama 27 June: Suspected militants barged into the homes of a special police officers (SPOs) in Below village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and beat them up.

According to reports reached to KNB “at least three armed men, who are yet to be identified, barged into the homes of Shakir Ahmad Bhat and Sajad Ahmad Ahangar and asked them to resign or “otherwise face consequences.”

He said that the militants have also threatened to kill them if they didn’t leave their jobs.

Relatedly, on 09 April, suspected militants barged into the house of a special police officer (SPO) in Lassipora area of Pulwama district and beat him up, then left the village firing several shots in the air. (KNB)
