Srinagar, June 18: Former Union Minister Prof Soz attended a congregation at Kreri today that had been organized by the family to commemorate Syed Shujaat Bukhari on the 4th day of his very sad demise.
Rich tributes were paid to Dr Shujaat Bukhari by various speakers.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Soz explained that Dr Shujaat Bukhari tried to promot a strong debate on the miseries that the people of Kashmir suffered primarily for the fact that there was hostility between India and Pakistan. Therefore, he was a strong votary of cordiality between India and Pakistan.
Prof Soz told the gathering that since the neighbourhood cannot be changed, India and Pakistan have to be friends. Prof Soz said further that against this background it was necessary for people to understand that both India and Pakistan happen to be Nuclear powers and therefore war can never be an option. Peace and cordiality between India and Pakistan has to be a mission in life for every citizen of the sub-continent.” (CNS)
