10-year-old injured in shell explosion in Poonch

Poonch, July 24: A 10-year-old boy was injured critically in a shell explosion at Kasba village of border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

A police officer concerned told GNS that the boy Mohd Ishfaq,10, son of Abdul Hamid of Kasba village suffered critical splinter injuries after a shell went off while he was fiddling with it.

Ishfaq was immediately taken to a nearby Sub-District Hospital where from he was referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment, he said.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident occurred when the boy was fiddling with the device outside his home,” the officer said, adding that the incident is being investigated from the other angles also. (GNS)
