Army soldier injured in cross-border shelling in Poonch

Poonch, July 24: An army soldier was injured in cross-border shelling at Sawjian sector along the border in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

SSP Poonch Rajeev Panday told GNS that army’s 40 RR manning the fence fired some warning shots in the area following some suspicious movement early today morning.

Later, Pakistani army in a bid to “push the infiltration” into this side violated the ceasefire by attacking the army posts in Sawjian sector of Mandi.

In the ceasefire violation, one army soldier sepoy Chamour Singh suffered injuries and was hospitalized, he said. (GNS)
