Srinagar, July 06: Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has been arrested by police early today. A large contingent of police cordoned his residences in the wee hours of morning today, raided his room and arrested him. After the arrest, he was immediately shifted to KothiBagh Police station.
While strongly condemning the arrest of Yasin Shaib, zonal president JKLF Noor Muhammad Kalwal while condemning this arrest has said that to halt peaceful protest, arresting Yasin Shaib and placing other leaders under house arrest has turn out to be a fond hobby of police and establishment. He said that imposing restrictions to suppress people’s voices is no democracy but worst kind of dictatorship which Indian rulers are practicing under the grab of so-called biggest democracy. Terming the crackdowns in Shupian, Pulwama, Kulgam and other parts of Kashmir valley, as worst oppression, JKLF leader said that beating and torturing common people without the discrimination of age and gender, vandalizing and destroying their properties, arresting young boys and torturing them, humiliating elders and community leaders has become an order of the day which is highly condemnable. JKLF leader said that intimidating Kashmiris by NIA, ED aggression, Killings, torture, arrests and other oppressive measures by Indian army, forces and police is not possible and these fascist acts cannot suppress, finish or weaken our resolve for freedom. Terming the oppression unleashed against Kashmiri inmates in Indian jails and the jails of Jammu Kashmir, he said that from Mattan jail to Udhmapor jail, stories of apathy and aggression on poor inmates is same and most condemnable. These anti-democratic acts only shame Indian claims of being biggest democracy and can in no case defeat our valor and desire for freedom, added JKLF. Our struggle and peaceful resistance is based on truth and justice and will continue till the derived goal is achieved, added JKLF leader.
Meanwhile JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri today addressed a gathering at historic Haji Masjid Lal Chowk in which he paid rich tributes to Kashmiri Martyrs. Paying rich tributes to martyrs, JKLF leader said that nation of Kashmir is indebted to these martyrs. At the end of this program, a prayers meeting for the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir was held. People prayed for the heavenly abode of great martyrs and for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir.
