Ganderbal, 24 July: Flash flood triggered by a cloudburst have wreaked havoc in Najwan and Hayan areas of Central Kashmir’s district Ganderbal.
Reports said that cloudburst triggered flooding in Najwan Nallah on monday and in Hayan nallah on Tuesday which later damaged roads, standing crops, electricity and water pipelines in Najwan and Hayan villages of the district.
Later the residents try to remove the boulders, mud and stones in their yards and fields, following the landslides triggered by flooding, reports said.
Residents said Water level was very high and dangerous due to which the flood damaged roads, water supply and electricity were also disrupted.
JCB machines have been put into service to remove the boulders, mud and stones following the landslides triggered by flooding said an official.
Meanwhile SDM Kangan Mehraj udin shah along with Tehsildar Kangan Mushtaq Ahmad and other officers have reached the spot and are accessing the demage caused by the flash floods.
