Debarring SSA teachers, RMSA Masters from 7th Pay Commission unfortunate: Wani
Says EJAC will protest in case demands not fulfilled

Srinagar, Jul 29: An important meeting of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) was held at Srinagar under the chairmanship of senior JCC leader and president EJAC Abdul Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting, the pending and legitimate demands of Teachers/ Head teachers and Masters working under SSA and RMSA were discussed threadbare.
According to the statement issued to KNS, all the leaders showed strong resentment and serious concern on the plight of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters who have been deprived from their legitimate right of 7th Pay Commission and timely salaries.
In a unanimous voice, the leaders termed the attitude of the Government towards the teachers as ‘unjustified, illogical and unacceptable’ to EJAC.
“On one side the Government gives repeated assurances to solve these grave issues but on the other hand nothing concrete has come out till date which has not only disturbed 40,000 teachers but has also put their families in a mental trauma,” EJAC president, Abdul Qayoom Wani said while addressing the meeting.
He said that teachers organizations under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee are in continuous struggle to resolve the issues for which teachers organised historical peaceful demonstrations but Govt failed to redress their justified demands till date which compelled the leadership of EJAC to show their solidarity and sympathy with the teaching fraternity and the leadership decided to go for a symbolic peaceful demonstration under the banner of Employees joint Action committee.
Wani said that State, provincial leaders, Distt and Zonal and volunteers of EJAC will hold a peaceful march from Sheri Kashmir Park to Civil Secretariat on 9th of August 2018 to present a memorandum to Governor of the state.
In the meeting, President EJAC urged upon all the affiliated organisations of EJAC and their leadership to gear up their units for the symbolic peaceful protest to be held on 9th August in favour of SSA trs, Head trs and RMSA Masters.
Employees Joint Action Committee which is the sole representative organisation of all Govt, Public Sector and Temporary employees of the state is watching every move and development in this regard and now it cannot act as a mute spectator towards the injustices meted out with SSA and RMSA teachers, the statement added.
In this regard, EJAC had already announced a peaceful protest march on 10th of July, but due to unfavorable circumstances the protest demonstration had to be called off.
While announcing their full support and cooperation to SSA and RMSA teachers, Wani said that if the Government fails to resolve the genuine demands of SSA and RMSA teachers by 8th August 2018, then the state.
Provincial leaders, district, zonal executives and volunteers of Employees Joint Action Committee will hold a peaceful protest march from Sheri-Kashmir Park Srinagar to Civil Secretariat on 9th of August 2018.
Wani and other top brass leaders of EJAC urged upon the Govt to resolve these issues at an earliest otherwise EJAC leadership will call all the five lakh employees of the state to come on roads in favour of the builders of nation for the resolution of their justified and legitimate rights.
He urged upon the Governor of the state, N.N Vohra, Advisors B B Viyas, Khurshid Ahmad Ganie, Vijayc Kumar, Chief Secretary B.V Subramanyium, Secretary school education Rigzian Sampheal to intervene in the matter and issue orders for the implementation of 7th pay commission to SSA and RMSA teachers and regulate their salaries by delinking it from the central budget and linking it with the state budget.
