Srinagar July 2: Hurriyat Conference (G) executive body (Majlis-e-Shoora) meeting was held at its headquarters in Hyderpora on Monday which was presided over by its general secretary Gh Nabi Sumji.
A statement issued to GNS said that the meeting discussed several important issues related to struggling for the right to self-determination.
The meeting was attended by the heads or the representatives of its constituent parties including Mohd Yasin Ataie( People’s League ) Molvi Bashir Irfani (Mass Movement) Imtiaz Ahmad Shah, (People’s Freedom League), Syed Mohammad Shafi ( People’s League K) Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mohd Yusuf Naqash (Islamic Political Party) Yasmeen Raja (Muslim Khawateen Markaz) Mohd Shafi Lone ( Employees Forum) Hakim Ab Rashid (Muslim democratic League) Nisar Hussain Rather (Tehreek-e-Wahdat Islami) Kh Firdous (DPM) Gh Ahmad Gulzar (Insaaf Party) Peer Ab Rashid (Tehreek-e-Hurriyat) and Aga Syed Mohd Yasoof (Peerwan-e-Walayat), the statement said.
The meeting strongly condemned the continuous house detention of Syed Ali Geelani, saying the continuous detention is taking the heavy toll on his health. “If any untoward happens to him, New Delhi and local rulers shall have to face the consequences,” the participants said.
The executive meeting unanimously urged UNO and international human rights organizations to take cognizance and play an effective role in resolving Kashmir issue.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) general secretary Gh Nabi Sumji expressed his deep grief over the demise of Ab Rehman Wani (Naibugh Kulgam) and extended his condolences to the grieved family.
He said that late Wani was the close associate of Syed Ali Geelani and paid tributes to the departed soul. (GNS)
