Urges Govt to take steps, provide better facilities to people
Srinagar, Jul 01: National Conference (NC) General Secretary and MLA Khanyar, Ali Muhammad Sagar on Sunday visited the constituency to assess the floods like situation triggered due to the heavy rains.
Sagar said that water had entered in Bulbul Shah area of Shehr-e-Khas here where people have faced hardships. “Some of the roads in Srinagar are still inundated,” he said, adding that the overall situation is normal.
He also said that the people have also complained of irregular power supply. “I urge the Governor N N Vohra to take steps to ensure better facilities to the people so that the residents here could heave a sigh of relief,” he said.
He further said that the people here are yet to receive the flood relief announced by the government. “The residents here have only received Rs 12000 as flood relief following which nothing was given to them. Rs 1200 crore were supposed to be distributed among the people here but people are yet to receive amount,” he said. (KNS)
