Ganderbal, July 03: Two Yatris died and four injured after rains triggered a landslide along the Baltal route of the ongoing Amarnath yatra in Central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal on Tuesday evening.
An official said that landslide triggered by heavy rains occurred mid-way between Brarimarg and Railpathri along the Baltal route today evening resulting into death of two and injuries to four others, one of them is said to be critical.
The injured yatris were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Official added the teams of Army, Police, SDRF and NDRF have reached at the spot.
With these, the death toll in this year’s Yatra has gone up to Eight including five pilgrims, one BSF officer, one palanquin carrier and one Yatra volunteer.
