Poonch, Aug 11: A 4-year-old boy was injured critically after hit by an army vehicle near Sangla Chowk in Mendhar area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports reaching GNS said that the minor boy namely Rehan Khan (4) son of Sheeraz Ah Khan of Kotan, Dhargloon, Mendhar was returning to home from school after he was hit by an army jeep in Sangla area.

“The jeep was part of the convoy which was coming from Jammu to Mendhar when the incident occurred”.

The student is enrolled in the first primary in St. Francis Convent School in Mendhar.

Khan received multiple injuries in his head and chest and was shifted to PHC Dhargloon where from he was referred to Sub-District hospital Mendhar.

BMO Mendhar Parvez Khan confirmed that the hospital has received the minor boy in serious conditions.

“After being treated for some time in SDH Mendhar, the minor was later referred to district hospital Rajouri for advanced treatment,” BMO said.

A police officer, meanwhile, said that a case under the relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up. (GNS)
