72th Independence Day celebrated with enthusiasm, traditional fervor in Kupwara

Kupwara, Aug 15: 
District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir  hoisted the national flag, inspected the parade and took salute at combined march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Home Guards, FPF ,SPOs and Schools

Addressing the gathering, the DC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir, remembered the numerous sacrifices of people from all sections of the society, irrespective of caste, creed and colour for securing the freedom from the British rule after a long struggle. He paid rich tributes to all those who sacrificed their lives for the cause and called upon the people, especially the younger generation to contribute for preserving the hard won independence.

On the occasion, MLA Kupwara Bashir Ahmad Dar, SSP Kupwara Shriraam Danikar, officers of district administration, police, Army besides political and field workers were present.

Later, the deputy commissioner Kupwara  distributed prizes and certificates among the meritorious participants and employees for their meritorious services in different fields.
