‘Won’t allow anybody to fiddle with Article 35-A’
Bandipora, Aug 06: Amid complete shutdown, Traders Federation Bandipora, Civil Society on Monday staged a protest against what they termed as the threat to abrogate Article 35-A.
Dozens of members from Traders Federation Bandipora and Civil Society Bandipora assembled at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora here in order to register their protest over the abrogation of Article 35-A.
Protesters demanded immediate dismissal of the petition, challenging Article 35-A.
They said that special status of state is their pride and need to be protected.
The protesters also threatened to launch agitation if any tinkering with Article 35-A will be done. “We won’t allow anybody to fiddle with Article 35-A. The state subject law should not be eroded at any cost,” said Shamshad Ahmad, President of Traders Federation.
Meanwhile, all the shops, business establishments remained closed throughout the district while as the public and private transport was off the roads. (KNS)
