Srinagar, Aug 31: Calling the abduction of family members of JK policemen as ‘unfortunate’, the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Fridaysaid that there was need to change the policy against the persons involved in the act.
Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the incidents of abduction of family members has taken place in the past as well but there was need to change the policy against those who abducted the family members of JK policemen in South Kashmir so that such incidents are not repeated.
Gupta as per the KNS correspondent told reporters after BJP delegation met with the newly appointed Governor, Satya Pal Malik, that they discussed various issues pertaining to law and order and present in situation in Jammu and Kashmir with the Governor.
He said that no discussion over formation of new government took place during the meeting.
“After holding discussion with the Governor, I think that the focus from the upcoming days will be on normalizing the situation in the State,” he said. (KNS)
