BJP delegation meets Governor

Srinagar, August 31: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party led by its President Sh. Ravinder Raina, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation extended warm greetings to Sh. Malik on his appointment as Governor of the State and hoped that under his guidance the State will usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.

The delegation extended support to the government’s decision of conducting long overdue polls to  the Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats.

The delegation requested Governor to expedite various pending road and infrastructure projects including Jammu Ring Road, 4 laningof Jammu-Poonch Highway, completion of artificial lake on river Tawi, Jammu airport extension, and construction of AIIMS at Jammu etc; early filling up vacancies of doctors; early compensation to POJK refugees; benefit of reservation in government jobs to the inhabitants of IB; early resolution of issues of West Pakistani Refugees;  and Baridaars of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine etc.

 Governor assured the delegation due consideration of all the issues raised by them and urged them to continue their sustainedendeavours for the welfare of people. He urged the delegation to create awareness among the people about the benefits of strengthening these grass root level democratic institutions for the overall development of towns and villages.

The delegation comprised Sh. Jugal Kishore Sharma; Sh. Kavinder Gupta; Sh. Sat Sharma; Choudhary Sukhnandan; Sh. Abdul Ghani Kohli; Sh. Bali Bhagat; Sh. Sunil Sharma; Sh. Chander Prakash Ganga;  Sh. Sofi Yousuf; Sh. Ashok Khajuria and Sh. Narinder Singh.
