Illicit timber seized in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Forest department and forest protection force in a joint operation on Monday late evening seized a Maruti car laden with illicit timber at Prang head in central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal.
A top forest official while talking to this reporter said after receiving a specific information forest protection force and employees of forest department range kangan laid a checkpoint at Prang head area of kangan, during the checking a Maruti car bearing registration number JKO1E 4587 loaded with illicit timber (16.20 Cfts Deodar) was intercepted. Taking advantage of darkness the smugglers managed to flee from the spot.
We have registered an FIR No: 52/2018 against Mohammad Ashraf khan S/O: Abdul Karim Khan, Jamroz Khan S/O: Younis khan, residents of Gutlibagh, Abdul Majid Bhat S/O: Dul Bhat and John Mohammed Bhat S/O: Abdul Ahad Bhat residents of Nillah Najwan, the investigation of the case is going on, he added.
