Srinagar, Aug 12: Reacting to allegations, the Imaan Tour and Travels, Hajj & Umrah Service Sunday claimed that company name was deliberately defamed.
The owner of the company claimed that a travel agency in Mumbai cheated them resulting in their helplessness for sending Hajj aspirants to the pilgrimage.
Reacting to a news report that “Imaan Tour and Travels, Hajj & Umrah Service had allegedly cheated Hajj aspirants”, its proprietor Sunday called this KNS correspondent and admitted that they took money from Hajj aspirants. “We too were cheated so we could not send Hajj aspirants for the Hajj. We returned almost 60 percent of payment and will return rest 40 percent in next two months,” he claimed.
He said that he understands the feelings of these pilgrims and humbly apologize to those who could not make to Hajj.
Reacting to allegations leveled by one of the Hajj aspirant, he claimed that he has a personal enmity and deliberately defamed their name. “We did nothing wrong. We could not send Hajj aspirants for the pilgrimage because we too were cheated,”he alleged.
“If anyone from these pilgrims come to you and say that he is not paid back then I will be responsible. We have already returned money to most of the pilgrims and the rest will be returned within two months,” he claimed.
He also claimed that they have lost around 35 lac rupees due to advance bookings and other preparations for these pilgrims.
It is to mention here that on Saturday the travel agency was allegedly said to have cheated several people by claiming to send them on holy journey of Hajj.
However the owner of the travel agency had told KNS that he too was cheated by the Mumbai based travel agency. “It was never my intention to cheat the pilgrims. I have done all the preparations for their Hajj. Even I have completed the orientation program, vaccination of all the pilgrims, but unfortunately I was cheated by the Mumbai based agency,” he had claimed.
He had said that the said travel agency did not send visa of the pilgrims on time resulting in delay of their Pilgrimage.
Kumar had also admitted that he has taken money from pilgrims but was returning it to all of them. (KNS)
