Even dictatorial regimes release inmates from jails but so-called Indian democracy and authorities serving it in Jammu Kashmir are busy detaining Kashmiris under PSA and shifting them to jails away from the reach of their families on Eid…// Muhammad Yasin Malik
Srinagar, 19 August: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has in strong words condemned the execution of black Law PSA on Zahoor Ahmad Bhat who has been shifted to Kathua Jail yesterday. Zahoor Ahmad Bhat was arrested by police on concocted charges on 8th August 2018 and was kept at police station Nowhata before being shifted to Kuthowa Jail. While condemning Zahoor Ahmad Bhat’s arrest and slapping of PSA on him, JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that continued suppression of political voices in Jammu Kashmir by Indian occupation is a glaring example of Jammu Kashmir being a police state where dictatorship under the garb of democracy is prevalent. JKLF chairman said that from 2009 police more than a dozen time arrested and implemented black law PSA on Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and he has spent many years in jail during these years. It is worth to mention that 70 year old ailing JKLF organizer Siraj Ud Din Mir and District president Baramullah Abdul Rashid Magloo are also languishing in Kotbalwal jail under PSA from last many months while as another JKLF leader Sheikh Nazir Ahmad is also serving life term in the same jail and authorities are trying everything to prolong their incarceration. Terming the spree of arrests, slapping PSA on those arrested especially political activists and shifting theses inmates hundreds of Kilometers away from their families that too on the occasion of Eid as worst dictatorship in the garb of democracy and Muslim animosity at its peak, JKLF chairman said that on the occasion of Eid like festivals, even dictatorial regimes release inmates from jails but so-called Indian democracy and authorities serving it in Jammu Kashmir have trampled this basic human instinct too and are busy in detaining Kashmiris under PSA and shifting them to jails away from the reach of their families and children . He said that cruel behavior of police authorities towards Kashmiris is not new but the way officers belonging to civil administration facilitate and legitimate these atrocities is too atrocious and condemnable. JKLF chairman said that though jails and incarcerations are not new for people in resistance but Rulers who claim to be champions of democracy and propagate high morals and principles by caging down political leaders and activists in arbitrary manner are proving their cruelty and undemocratic behavior. JKLF chairman said that people of Kashmir want their kith and kin languishing in jails to be released on Eid and appeal ICRC and other Human rights organizations to take note of the dictatorial behavior of Indian rulers towards Kashmiris and intervene to ensure their early release from jails and incarcerations.
