Kupwara, August 03: A complete shutdown is being observed in several areas of north Kashmir’s district Kupwara against the killing of two militants in a shootout with the government forces in Lolab area on yesterday.

Our correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir said that a complete shutdown is being observed in Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora and Lolab areas.
Meanwhile, forces have been deployed in Kupwara town to prevent any protests against the killings of two local Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants Zahoor Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad Shah .
However clashes erupted between protestors and government forces in Charkoot, Kalaroos,Khumriyal and other places of Lolab Kupwara. When the protestors were protesting after Friday prayer against the killing of two local militants. ā€œProtestors pelted stones while the forces used dozens of tear smoke shells to disperse them.”
During clashes Naib Tehsildar Mohd Ashraf suffered minor injuries and teenager namely Danish Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Rubani Lone of Kanipora, Kalaroos suffered a bullet wound after govt forces opened fire on a group of protesters.
Danish was taken to Sub District hospital Kupwara where from he was later referred to Srinagar hospital in critical conditions, reports said.
Tehsildar Kupwara Shabir Ahmad told our correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir that a Naib Tehsildar Mohd Ashraf who was posted in the area on magistrate duty also suffered minor injuries while he tried to control the situation, he added.
Meanwhile Internet service (2G, 3G,4G) in district Kupwara is still suspended.
