Baramulla 14 August: The entire Pattan town was taken aback when officials from the Drug Controller Department, acting on a tip of, found huge quantity of drugs dumped on the banks of a river in the locality on Monday.
According to reports reached to KNB, “a joint team comprising of Tehsildar, police and Drug Controller Department visited the place where the medicine in large quantity was dumped. At the site, the joint team discovered that some medicines were yet to expire”.
Tehsildar Pattan, speaking to a media organisation, has said that an investigation has been initiated into the matter to nab the culprits.
Rising Kashmir in its report, quoting Assistant Controller Drugs Mohd Bashir, North Kashmir, said that the Drug Controller Department got a lead about the presence of drugs that belonged to J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (JKMSCL) in the area. He also said that it was astonishing to see a variety of medicines disposed of and burnt openly. (KNB)
