‘Parents of militant son in distress’

Srinagar, Aug 21: It has been almost three years since Riyaz Ahmed Dar an active LeT militant from Sethargund picked up arms. Riyaz is the only son of his parents who are already in their late 60s. Father of Riyaz is partially paralyzed and under medication for the last one year. Facing constant hardships, the couple even had to shift to their relatives’ house and take the shelter over there for the past 4 months.

With Eid-ul-Azah around the corner, soldiers from Kakapore based Army Camp as per a press statement from Chinar Media to news agency CNS interacted with the couple and brought some shine on their dull faces. During the interactions, their problems were discussed and medical aid was ensured for his father. The relatives who are caretaking of the lone couple were also thankful for the efforts made by the Army. The family was assured that Army will continue to stand along with them in all circumstances. The Army also assured full assistance and cooperation to the family in case he wishes to return and wants to join the main stream.

The family members appreciated the efforts and conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the same. The visit not only brought smile on their faces but also ignited a hope of seeing their son home soon. (CNS)
