Setting next hearing date on 35-A petition another ploy: JKDFP
Condemns killing of a cattle trader

Srinagar, Aug 06: Commenting on the adjournment of the hearing of petition regarding Article 35-A by the Supreme Court of India, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) today said that majority people of the state are ready to react anytime against any move which can harm the disputed status of the region.
Terming the fixing of next hearing date on petition against 35-A yet another ploy, JKDFP said that New Delhi and its institutions want Kashmiri people to suffer at all levels and these institutions feel pleasure in troubling Kashmiri people.
According to a statement issued to KNS, congratulating the people for exhibiting strong resentment against the evil designs of vested interests who are hell bent to damage the peculiar specialty of Jammu Kashmir by observing historic shutdown, a Freedom Party Spokesperson said that Supreme Court of India should have rejected the petition out rightly instead of fixing another date for another hearing.
The JKDFP spokesperson said that India is interested in keeping Kashmir on boil that is why the matter is being prolonged and the Supreme Court has fixed another hearing of the petition. The highest court of India must understand the sensitivity of the matter and people related to it and reject all the petitions aiming at damaging the special status of Jammu Kashmir. The spokesperson said that people will not let the matter go and will certainly exhibit their anger on every court hearing unless the petition is rejected. The spokesperson strongly condemned the arresting of dozens of pro-freedom activists and common youth in last two days by police in nook and corner of the valley. He said that without caring for arrests and other oppressive measures, the people will react against any evil designs aimed at damaging their identity anytime.
Meanwhile, JKDFP strongly condemned the killing of a cattle trader by Indian army in Goole area of Ramban district. 28-year-old cattle trader, Mohammad Shafi Gujjar was killed and another civilian, Shakeel Ahmad was injured after Indian army opened fire on them in Kohli village of Dharmgund area of Ramban district. The brutal Murder of cattle trader, Mohammad Shafi is the latest example of Indian brutalities in the disputed region.
