Srinagar : The spectra of excess fee in colleges has reared its head again with students in Universal group of College Lalru area of Chandigarh and demanding additional fees from students.
Kashmiri Students of UGC while taking to our special correspondent said that “fees for academic year 2018-19” is rupees 22,500 but college says that we have to pay rupees 25,000 which we can’t affect now”.

However, the college can’t circular any order for the same they added.

One of the student Mohammad Arif Bhat from Ganderbal while taking to our correspondent on phone that he paid Rs. 22,500 as tuition fees, at that time college send me the free details in which they maintain that the fee for three years is Rs 1,35,000 it is Rs 22,500 per semester now college demanded Rs 25,000 per semester.
He further added that college authorities said they are going to cancel our admission if you not pay Rs 25,000”.

However other students have same version about the story “they said that we are move towards consumer court so that these college can’t play with the future of other students”.
The documents of fee structure of UGC is with our correspondent in which they have clearly maintained that the fee structure of college is Rs 22,500, but the college administration is not ready to accept it.

The students said the total “college fee” demanded is Rs. 22500, but is subject to bargaining.
He further told our correspondent that “after few days college contacted us and said that they are canceling our admission”. He said that I can’t understand what to do now as I loss my one year he added.

Top official at Universal Group of College Gyasuddin Siddiqui while talking to our correspondent over phone said that “the fee structure of college is 25000. He added that “We have only asked students to pay Rs 25000 not Rs 22500,” he said.

When asked about the university fee structure he refused to answer and start confusing.
