Assault on Kashmiri Student : J&KSO holds Massive Protest in Punjab 

Srinagar, Sep 26: Following Assault on Kashmiri Student in Punjab College, Hundreds of Kashmiri students under the Banner of Jammu and Kashmir Students organisation here on today held Massive Protest Demonstration outside Adesh Institute of Technology and Management in Mohali Punjab

Spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Students organisation Nasir Khuehami said that, Over 400 Kashmiri students assembled inside premises of Adesh Institute of Technology and Management in Mohalli, demanding action against the assailants who attacked a newly Kashmiri entrant inside the college without any rhyme and reason. The students carrying placards accused College administration of trying to hush up the matter. Protesting Student said Masroor sustained injuries on his right shoulder, left arm and some scratches on his chest. He was later taken to Sarasvati Hospital.  Khawaja Itrat President Jammu and Kashmir Students organisation who was leading Protest said that the police recorded the statement of Masroor Ahmed at Sarswati Hospital ,they registered FIR but no action taken place yet, because college administration wants to hush up the matter. While talking with Media itrat said that Attack on Kashmiri Students by some goons is a worrying factor for the students and parents. We demands punishment to the elements involved in beating and harassing of the Student.

Spokesperson said that these incidents have increased the sense of insecurity and anxiety among Kashmiri students studying outside as well as among their parents and relatives in Kashmir. Nasir demands immediate arrest of all those involved in the assault on Kashmiri students and ensure adequate arrangements for safety, security and medical care of the student injured. He claimed that every time Kashmiri Students were being harassed and no one in the Punjab administration utters a word or any action against the culprits. He Called upon the state and the central government to take effective measures to prevent such happenings. He also said a ‘vicious environment’ was being created in various institutions across the india by communal forces, adding that the central government’s handling of the situation has ‘weakened’ the confidence of the people of J&K.

He demanded safety of students across India so that the nation builders can become the pillars of nation. Kashmiri youths are not safe anywhere, whether it is Kashmir or outside state. This is not the ist one, we have already lost several innocents who have became the victims of unknown attackers.
