Budgam youth apprehended by army near border in Poonch

Poonch, Sep 24: A 27-year-old youth from Budgam district was apprehended by the army while trying to ex-filtrate near Gulpur sector of Poonch district on Monday late evening.

An army officer told GNS said that alert troops of 15 MLI regiment apprehended the person while he was trying to cross the border near Rangar Nallah near Trade centre in Gulpur sector.

“Some documents have been recovered from his possession and was later handed over to the police station concerned for further investigations,” he said.

SSP Poonch Rajiv Panday confirmed the incident and said that the army has handed over the man to the police station.

He identified the person as Mohd Rafiq Dar,27, son of Abdul Rehman Dar of Badgam are of Chadoora, Budgam.

“A case under FIR number 158/ 2018 under section 2/3 EMCO Act has been registered and further investigations were taken up,” he said.
