Malik leads protest against Pulwama civilian killing
Srinagar, Sep 04: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik strongly condemned the continued wave of terror and intimidation being unleashed by the lakhs of Indian forces across South Kashmir in the name of infamous and anti people operation called CASO which resulted in the gruesome killing of civilian Fayaz Wani and injuring of scores of people at chewa Kalan Pulwama .
JRL said these cordon and search operations to terrorise and harass common people are deplorable unjustified and against all principles of humanity . Making people hostage in their own homes, thrashing them , vandalising their houses , detaining youth at will and then mercilessly killings civilians in this manner is absolute state aggression and state terrorism which the Indian state is perpetuating as a state policy, with impunity and without remorse.
In a joint statement the leadership said that despite unleashing ultimate terror and repression across South Kashmir, the resolve of the people of south Kashmir to stand up against it is unwavering ,adding to the frustration of forces, who then resort to revenge, and vendetta against civilian population.
Leadership said that no military might has ever succeeded in suppressing a peoples just political movements across the globe and neither will this . The dispute will have to be resolved politically in keeping with peoples will and choice .
Meanwhile On the call of JRL, scores of leaders and activists assembled at the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar for a joint protest sit-in against the reign of terror inflicted on the people of South Kashmir. The protest was led by JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, who strongly denounced the force’s crackdown on dozens of south Kashmir villages and killing of innocent people terming it as barbaric and highly undemocratic. Malik while addressing the protestors, comprising JRL leaders, activists and youth, said that the leadership won’t remain silent on the endless pain inflicted on the people of south Kashmir.
Malik said if forces and the authorities don’t stop the open aggression being unleashed against the people of south Kashmir that includes thrashing of inmates, sudden search operations, the leadership won’t hesitate in asking people to hit the streets.He said people of South Kashmir are being punished for no fault, and they have been left at the mercy of forces as every citizen in south Kashmir districts lives under constant fear.
Those who participated in the protest include Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Hilal Ahmed war Mushtaq Sufi, Showkat Bakshi, Ashraf BinSalaam, Ghulam Qadir Beig, Bashir Kashmiri, Muhammad Yosuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdur Rashid, Abdur Rashid Untoo, Abdul Majeed Wani, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Prince Saleem, Farooq Ahmed Saudagar, Imtiyaz Ahmed Shah, Advocate yasir Dalal,Ghulam Hassan Mir, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Firdous Ahmed Wani, Muhammad Shafi Mir, Ghulam Muhammad Nagoo, Muhammad Yasin Attai and others. Senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza who was on way to participate in the protest, was detained on way and the Leadership strongly condemns his arrest.
