PULWAMA, SEP 30: Government Forces arrested over a dozen youth during nocturnal raids in Karimabad village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Most of the arrested youth according to reports are relatives of active militants of Hizbul Mujhadeen and other outfits.

A police official said that those arrested are involved in stone pelting incidents and some of them are militant sympathisers, a claim refuted by locals who said all the youth are innocents and mostly they are students.

Reports said that Government Forces cordoned off Karimabad village and made these arrests during night. Locals said that Forces action created panic in the area.

Locals identified some of the arrested youth as Inam-Ul-Haq S/o Mohammad Rafiq Pandit, Ariz Latif S/o Latif Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Adil Ahmad S/o Ghulam Mohammad, Suhail Ahmad S/o Bashir Ahmad, Rayees Ahmad Bhat S/o Abdul Rashid Bhat (Cousin of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen militant Adnan Ahmad), Waseem Ahmad Bhat S/o Late Abdul Hamid (Brother of  Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen militant Adnan Ahmad), Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Abdul Rehman Sheikh ( relative of Jaish-E-Mohammad militant Zahid Ahmad) and Umer Kabir Mir S/o Mohammad Kabir Mir.
