Qazigund, September 05: The subscribers of private telecommunication companies like Airtel, Jio, Idea and Vodafone have complained about erratic calling and Internet services in Qazigund village’s in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The Subscribers from Panzath, Checki Budwani, Kurigam, Watihal, Khoshipora, Nageenpora and it’s adjoining areas told that they are facing immense problems due to erratic calling and internet services for last several years in area.
“We are unable to contact our nears and dears as every time we dial the number, the network comes either busy, switched off, number does not exist or shows not network coverage,” said aggrieved residents adding that due to poor network call drops happen frequently.
They said that they always have to visit miles from their village to make phone calls due to poor network in the village.
The residents said that they approached cellular companies for installation of a mobile tower in their area but they have not installed any tower in the village till date.
“We apprised Customer Care Executives about the erratic service many a time, but they failed to mitigate our problems,” subscribers added.
They also complained that the service had poor audio quality. “Echoes are frequent during conversations,” said Abdul Ahad of Panzath
“E-learning being the latest wave of education in world but here in this area, students are facing acute network problems which need to be solved through proper initiatives,” a group of local students said.
The locals appealed the higher ups of the cellular companies to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at an earliest.
