Previous Govts failed to mitigate sufferings people: JD (U)

JAMMU, Sep 19: Janta Dal (United) State President G M Shaheen questioned the BJP for its failure to address the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir State, as the party always accused the state and centre governments for not giving the due treatment to Jammu.

Shaheen while addressing the press conference at Ramada Hotel said, “JDU after conducted tours various districts of Jammu region observes that previous BJP-PDP including NC-Congress coalition governments had miserably failed to provide drinking water, adequate power supply and ration to the general public and also failed to mitigate the sufferings of the people in rural areas of the Jammu region. He further pointed out that unprecedented power and water crisis in the whole state in general and Jammu province in particular, was result of the failure on the part of previous government.

He alleged that the previous coalition partners were finding it difficult to reduce the trust deficit between them due to ideological differences but the controversies, courted by them, also had a negative impact on governance and public delivery. He added that the PDP-BJP leaders are busy only in delivering sermons and repeating of repeated hallow claims. However, he said the fact remains that developmental activities are almost invisible and no concrete measures are taken to address the issues of livelihood.

He further claimed that JDU will emerge as the single largest party in the ongoing assembly elections including in ULB and Panchayat elections and hope full to form the next government in the state with the help of the people who are now extended their full support to the JDU party as a large number of people are being joined the party fold almost every day in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions.

State Youth President Raja Wasim in his address said, “JDU has always pursued a pro-people policy and it is due to this reason that people always associate themselves with the party and has been gaining popularity in the state.  We have been able to make great gains across the state. Our agenda and policy are in tune with the people’s aspirations and as such we would be able to form the next government in the state.”

After the conclusion of the event, the leadership of JDU led by G M Shaheen visited the spot of striking teachers sitting on indefinite strike for the last 21 days and assured them their full support in mitigating their problems and demands. He also urged upon the Governor S P Malik to consider their long pending genuine demands pertaining to implementing benefits of 7th PC and delinking of their salaries. State Youth President Raja Wasim, Incharge Jammu Nigesh Sarmal, District President Jammu Rachpal Singh, Youth Vice President Keshav Kumar, senior leader Syed Shafi and others leaders were also spoke of the occasion.
