A number of Shia associations associated with the Muharram arrangements by the District Administration castigated Aga for attempting to promote his vested interests in the area and highly appreciated the remarkable arrangements put in place for the first time. Pertinently, Shia Association, Anjumani Sharai, Hussaini Relief Committee, Ali Asghar Relief Trust, Hussaini Mission, Peoples Council, other organisations and Muttawallis of all Imambaras have remained associated with arrangements and attended review meeting earlier this week terming the arrangements exemplary.
The arrangements for Muharram are being personally supervised by the Deputy Commissioner who also obtained feedback from Imambaras in a meeting convened at Sumbal. Funds were released to all the departments well in time and all required works executed on ground.
An amount of Rs 72 Lakh has been incurred by Power department for installation of Twin-batter inverters in 58 Imambaras, Installation of LED lights, illumination of Imambaras, installation of street lights, 100 additional poles, wiring and creation of 2 sub-stations of 100KVA each to improve power supply in Shia dominated areas. Rs 21.25 Lakh stand incurred by PHE Department for provision of 110 PVC Tanks of 100 Litre capacity each to 55 Imambaras, Hiring of tankers for water supply, and provision of distribution network of pipes for Imambaras.
Likewise, Rs 6.80 Lakh provided to Municipal Committee for lighting and sanitation, including procurement of provisions. PWD has spent Rs 15.98 Lakh for upgradation of internal link roads in Jaffrya Mohalla, Nowgam, Inderkoot, Murtazabad, Gansathan, Gadkhund, Najin, Tulerzoo, Kawpora, Malaipora, Dangerpora, Shadipora, Trigam and other Shia dominated areas. RDD has taken up 39 Community Sanitary Complexes at a cost of Rs 78 Lakhs including 10% community contribution received under CDF, for various Imambaras. SFC has distributed 800 quintals of firewood in Imambaras and Department of FCS&CA has distributed ration including additional quota well in time.
A number of organisations have taken strong exception to the baseless statement issues in media without appreciation of ground work which has been a record in itself. Meanwhile, Aga Syed Syed Hassan called on the Deputy Commissioner and clarified that statement was regarding requirement of overall requirement development in area and expressed gratitude for Muharram arrangements. Meanwhile, prominent shia associations lodged protests at Sumbal against the statement of Aga Syed Hassan. (KNS)
