Sonamarg Police rescued 2 South Kashmir students

Ganderbal, September 07: Sonamarg police rescued two picnic students on Thursday who were trapped a day earlier at Glacier Sonamarg here in Central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal.

Police source said at around 7 pm PS Sonamarg received an information that two Students identified as Shahid Ahmad lone son of Abdul Hamid Lone R/O Arigam Pulwama and Naveed Ahmad Khan Son of Farooq Ahmad Khan R/O Manand Gafan Pulwana from Kahi Higher secondary school of Lasjan Pulwana who were on picnic along with their school while going via Glacier Sonamarg Trek got trapped at the Glacier.

He said that one boy Identified as Shahid Ahmad Lone received Minor injuries due to the slipping at Glacier.

“Upon receipt of this information, Sonamarg Police launched a rescue operation and constituted a rescue team comprising of Sonamarg police headed by SHO Sonamarg Manzoor Ahmad Mir along with and necessary rescue materials.

“The rescue team immediately swung into action and rushed to the spot. “Despite freezing/harsh climatic conditions of the area, all the two trapped persons were safely rescued, he said.
