Tral, Sep 16: Several villages in Tral sub division of South Kashmir have complained of acute power cuts since last three days.

The residents of Nagbal, Nagapathri, Mandoora, Panner, Machama, Ourigund, Kahlil, Chaan, Bagandar, Kangloora and adjoining villages of Tral have said that, they are facing immense problems due to the long power cut since Saturday morning.

A local resident Manzoor Ahmad from Tral said that the power curtailment is badly hitting them from last three consecutive days as their children are not able to study well while as mobile phones are going off.

He said that people from Shia community are particularly facing inconveniences as there is urgent need of electricity to them in these days.

The locals demanded immediate restoration of the electricity to mitigate the problems being faced by people.

When contacted, assistant executive engineer, power development department Tral, Mohd Maqbool Ahangar, told that, area is facing curtailment due to transformer damage in Chewa Ullar receiving station

He further said that, transformer has been shifted to Srinagar for repairing, where it may take some time, added that he is trying his best to supply electricity to the said affected areas from main grid station Tral via Pinglish feeder.
