Accession day, a proud moment for J&K: Altaf Thakur

Srinagar, Oct 27: Terming Oct 27 as the day of proud moment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP state spokesman Altaf Thakur today said the day will be celebrated as accession day across the state.

He said on this day in 1947, the tallest leader of Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah took a historic decesion of acceding with the union of India knowing the fact that the future of Jammu and Kashmir lies secure with the India only. Thakur said that Sheikh Muhammed Abdullah rejected the two nation theory and took a step in the larger interests of people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP state spokesman said on this day every BJP worker will renew their pledge to strengthen the integrity and sovereignty of India to the best possible way. Thakur said celebrations with regard to the accession day will take place across the state especially in the BJP offices in Srinagar and Jammu where fire crackers woukd burst as part of the celebrations.

Thakur said it is because the historic decesion taken on October 27, 1947 when army arrived to push back the invaders from Pakistan, that Jammu and Kashmir is on the path of progress and development started by Prime Minister Narendera Modi.

Thakur said that accession of Jammu and Kashmir with India makes the state as India’s crown and integral part.
