Srinagar, 10 October: spree of arrests, nocturnal raids, manipulations and other undemocratic acts for making a bogus operation named as municipal elections a success is ridiculous and condemnable. Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) strongly condemns the arrest of its Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and others.
Police last night raided the residence of JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal and took him in custody. Police today morning raided the residence of zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri and took him in custody too. Moreover Police from yesterday evening is summoning JKLF zonal vice president Muhammad Yasin Butt to police station Nigeen. It is pertinent to mention that JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik is in police custody from 2nd of October 2018, while as JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is also in custody from 7th October 2018. JKLF leaders Siraj-Ud -din Mir, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Abdul Rashid Magloo and Assadullah Sheikh are also incarcerated under PSA and lodged in Kot-balwal Jail. While condemning this spree of arrests, nocturnal raids and summons, JKLF has said that to make a bogus operation named as municipal and panchayat elections, Indian rulers and their abettors in Kashmir have unleashed a reign of terror. He said that despite oppressive measures, manipulations and other undemocratic acts Indian rulers and their abettors have failed to lure people of Kashmir and a complete boycott of these farce elections should serve as an eye opener for them.
Meanwhile JKLF has paid glowing tributes to great martyr Mushtaq Ahmad Khan of Batamaloo who embraced martyrdom on 10th October 1990. Terming martyr Mushtaq Ahmad Khan as a gallant son of soil, JKLF spokesman said that martyrs like Mushtaq Shaheed are our real heroes and this nation is indebted to their struggle and sacrifices. JKLF is inheritor of these great souls and sacrifices and we pray to Allah Almighty for the success of the sacred mission of these martyrs.
