LeT pays tribute to its slain men

Srinagar, Oct 17: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah on has paid tribute to the outfit’s commander Mehraj-ud-din Bangru and Fahad Mushtaq for valour and courage against the forces. Both militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces on Wednesday morning at Fateh Kadal in Srinagar’s Old City.

The outfit also claimed that 3 Indian forces personnel were killed in the encounter while several were severely injured.

A spokesperson of LeT Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted Shah as saying that “Indian forces resorted to their acts of cowardice by burning the houses thereby rendering the whole neighbourhood into ashes”.

“Whenever Indian forces suffer a drastic defeat at the hands of freedom fighters, they express their frustration by committing such cowardice acts,” Shah said, adding, “This is nothing but a severe war crime.”

LeT chief further slammed the “hypocrisy” of Indian media saying, “The Indian media must expose the atrocities of Indian forces if they are upto the journalistic ethics. The local journalists and media persons were beaten up by the Indian forces at the encounter site so that the Indian war crimes are never shown to the world.”

Mehmood Shah vowed to continue the mission of Mehraj-ud-din Bangru and prayed for his highest status in Jannah.

“Bangru family has rendered great sacrifices for the cause and will continue this legacy. There will be many to pick up the gun of a fallen freedom fighter,” he said.
