Poonch, Oct 01: Addressing a seminar in Poonch on Communal Harmony organized by APJ ABDUL KALAM HUMAN WELFARE FOUNDATION, Mani Shankar Aiyer said that, Poonch is the perfect example of Unity in Diversity, lauding the people of Poonch for maintaining the true spirit of brotherhood and Peace.
He said that, whatever he is dreaming while sitting in Delhi for entire India, Poonch is practically sending that message to not just rest of India but to entire world, where people from all walks of life and faith living together preserving true essence and meaning of India.

While congratulating APJ ABDUL KALAM HUMAN WELFARE FOUNDATION and it’s Chairman Khalil A Banday, he said that, untill these seminars will take place, no one can disturb the atmosphere of peace, brotherhood and communal harmony. He also said that, India at present desperately needs such initiatives so that, fear and hatred can be dragged out of the societies.

While talking on the relations between India and Pakistan _He said that, dialogue is the only way out and India Pakistan must initiate dialogue process for the sake of giving peace a chance and people of this subcontinent an atmosphere of peace where they can live peacefully._
Mani Shankar Aiyer immensely appreciated the concept of organizing a Peace Walk by Kalam Foundation where more than 300 people from all faith participated by carrying umbrellas with a message of peace written on it.

*On this occasion, Kalam Foundation has also awarded five prominent teachers for their immense contribution in the field of Education. They included Muhammad Ameen Qamar Sahab, Nazir Hussain Qureshi, Keval Krishan Kapoor, Jagjit Singh Awal and Ghulam Hussain Jafferi. They were presented a book, a shawl and a momento on this occasion.*

While speaking, Renowned Peace activist I.D. Khajuria also appreciated Kalam Foundation and said that, Peace is prerequisite for anything to take place and peace is the right of the future generation as well.
In the beginning, the welcome address was delivered by Khalil A Banday, Chairman Kalam Foundation. While delivering his welcome address, He presented a brief report card of activities undertaken by Kalam Foundation and said that, Kalam Foundation will keep on inviting such intellectual personalities here in Poonch more often.

Other speakers also appreciated this seminar and Kalam Foundation for such a successful seminar.
The anchoring part was done by noted anchor Pradeep Khanna.

It is pertinent to mention that, Kalam Foundation has organised various seminars in past by inviting top intellectual personalities of the country including Wajahat Habibullah, Nayeema Mahjoor, Dr Manoj K Jha and Dr Masud Choudhary.
