PWJA Condems Use Of Pellets Against Shopian Journalist

Pulwama 31 October: Pulwama Working Journalist Association condems use of pellets against a senior scribe, Aijaz Ahmad Dar, a freelancer with a new Dehli based news channel, at Memander village of Shopian while he was discharging his professional duties as a journalist.
AiJaz , was injured after hit with pellets fired by a continent of police allegedly aiming at him.
He was shifted to district hospital Shopian with a head injury where from he was discharged after treatment.
Pulwama journalist while showing solidarity with the injured journalist, condemned the forces action and impressed up on higher authorities of police to investigate the matter and direct their personnel for observing restraint so that such incidents are not repeated in future.

PWJA retaliates that intimidating journalists will prove counterproductive for society and such incidents will not deter journalists from highlighting issues as they happen on ground. (KNB)
