Ganderbal, Oct 03: Department of Wildlife Protection in collaboration with Wildlife conservation fund organised an awareness event at Government boys higher secondary school kangan here in Central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal today.
The event aimed to inculcate wildlife knowledge and sensitising the school children’s towards their responsibilities vis-a-vis the conservation of the nation’s rich biodiversity and ecology, and helping them appreciate the beauty and importance of nature.
“Kids for tigers”, under the name and title of ‘save Hangul save tiger’ was also launched, which is a national campaign for the protection and conservation of the state animal, Hangul.
The event was presided over by Nadeem Qadri an Environmental lawyer of J&K high court, Amir wali wild life conservation fund director, SDM Kangan Mehraj udin shah, Principal GBHS kangan, DSP wild life protection Ganderbal, Irfan jeelani cheif coordinator Go Green Kangan and other officials pf the Department.
SDM Kangan Mehraj udin shah while expressing his appreciation said: “our generation must save wildlife as we owe it to future generations, it is also essential that we make our young people aware of the importance of wildlife conservation. Events like this one are vital in this regard, i am always ready to support whenever you need.
