Ganderbal: The residents of yarmuqam an area of central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal are up in arms against the authorities for dilapidated conditions of roads.
Residents of yarmuqam said the authorities have totally failed to mecadamize after it was damaged when flash flood triggered by a cloudburst demaged roads, crops and pipelines last year.
A local resident, Abdul Rehman, while taking to this reporter said that the authorities have totally failed to mecadamize the road which is lying in dilapidated condition from last few years.
He said our mohalla committee members are reappearing the road on it’s own money, as authorities have failed to reappear the road since few years.
Another resident Waseem ahmad said authorities are sleeping, the roads are badly damaged which leaves no way for us to walk as long strips of numerous roads turn into heaps of mud.
He said that the dilapidated road poses a risk of accidents as it is very hilly area, adding that several times officials of the concerned department have visited the area, we are waiting nothing has happened till now.
Locals have urged the J&K Governor, deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and concerned authorities to look into their grievances and take necessary steps for their redressal so that they won’t suffer anymore.
