6 years old PHE scheme in Budgam’s Kuzwera still functioning without filtration plant

Budgam, November 06: Residents of Budgam’s Kuzwera are demanding safe and filtered drinking water facility for their locality.

A local resident, Tanveer Ahmad says they are drinking unsafe and unfiltered water of the river Jhelum for long. “The government had installed water scheme before a decade ago to facilitate the drinking water but unfortunately department never succeed to feed safe water as of pending work of filtration plant.” a resident, Tanveer Ahmad told to Fast Kashmir.

Another local says they have urged authorities many times to complete the filtration plant work but they remained unmoved. He further added the consistent use of Jhelum’s filthy water has afflicted a many of them.
The villagers are now demanding immediate completion and implementation of filtration plant in the scheme so they can drink safe water.

When contacted concerned executive engineer, PHE division Chadoora he assured that department will fix this problem soon.
