Kishtwar, Nov 11: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the killings of Parihar brothers has managed to establish vital link between the assailants and those who provide the weapon to the gunmen who executed the murder of BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar in Kishtwar last week.
The sources said that with establishment of Political link in the killing of Parihar brothers; the SIT probing the double murder case was on back foot as it has become daunting task for them to prove same during the investigation of this high profile case.
The sources said that the role of a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a high profile politician is also under scanner after preliminary inquiry found his direct involvement in the case and it is believed that his official weapon was used in carrying out the murders.
The sources said that the motorcycle without number plate used in escaping the assailant is yet to be traced while among the assailants one is said to be from Kashmir Division as his movement has been established in Kishtwar town few months ago.
The sources said that after escaping from the spot, the militants believed to be 3-4 in number took shelter in Shakti Nagar area of Kishtwar town in a house of villager.
The sources said that SIT has developed serious differences after a police officer who is not part of the SIT tried to influence the probe, but the matter was later resolved with the intervention of senior police officers.
The sources said that some elements even tried to divert the investigation line of the case at behest of high profile people who probably did not want that political angle in the case came to fore.
The sources said that it is to be seen whether SIT probing the case will manage to lay hands on the high profile politicians involved in the killing of Parihar brothers or simply declare the names of the killers.
It is pertinent to mention that AK 47 was used in killing the 55 Year Old Ajeet Parihar while his brother and BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar was killed with a pistol shot.
Among the two rounds used in killing the Parihar brothers, Kishtwar police found only case (Khokka) of AK 47 rifle which has become a mystery for the investigating agencies-however some officials believe that the militants might have picked up the Khokka from the scene of crime or it could have got stuck within the weapon used in the crime.
