Pulwama, Nov 10: The killing of two militants by government forces on saturday set off violent protests in pulwama district .

Scores of people hit the streets and staged protests when news spread this morning that government forces have killed two militants in an encounter in tikken village, witnesses told.

 

Angry protesters hurled rocks at the government forces to vent their anger against the militants killings.

“The government forces burst tear gas shells and fired warning shots to disperse the protesters. However, the protesters regrouped and continued stone pelting attack on the forces. The situation is very tense in the area,” witnesses said.

The clashes between government forces and protesters were going on when this report was filed.
However, internet service was suspended in pulwama district.
