Srinagar, Nov 20: A Hurriyat (G) leader was shot dead after fired upon by unknown gunmen in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.
Reports reaching GNS said that unidentified gunmen barged inside the residence of Hafiz Ullah Mir at Budhra area of Achabal and fired upon him.
In the incident, Hafiz Ullah was injured and were taken to district hospital Anantnag.
However, Hafiz Ullah was declared brought dead on arrival.
Medical Superintendent district hospital Anantnag, Dr Abdul Majeed Mehrab also confirmed the death of Hafiz Ullah Mir.
Mir, according to reports was affiliated with Hurriyat (G) led by Syed Ali Geelani. (GNS)
