Srinagar, The place called Kashmir is not just famous for having fascinating beauty but making lip smacking foodstuffs with extraordinary grace made it tycoon, chiefly for Wazwan.
Wazwan is a formal meal mostly prepared on special functions such as Kashmiri weddings.
The dishes like Methi Maaz, Rista, Kabab, Korma, Rogan Josh and Gushtaba are well-known among the whole Wazwan.
Literally, Wazwan in Kashmiri language means ‘waz’ (cook) and ‘wan’ (shop). The Kashmiri Wazwan is the multi-course meal of 36 dishes.
Between 15 and 30 are meat based and prepared under the supervision of Head Chef (Vasta waza).

The Wazwan which once was bound only to the marriages and special functions in Kashmir has gained its popularity throughout the Kashmir, besides being served in India at major hotels and restaurants.
Wazwan is also served internationally at Kashmiri food festivals and reunions.
