LEH, Dec 20: ‘Favoured starting the Kaliash Manasarovar yatra from Leh so that the Jammu and Kashmir State gets a tourist and economic boost, activist Renu Bakshi request government of indian to take up the long pending issue with the Chinese government.
Situated at the altitude of 22,028 feet, Mount Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva in Tibet. Pilgrims perform parikrama at Mount Kailash after the arduous trek. En route is the Manasarovar lake in which a dip is considered holy.
“ Leh-Damchok-Mansorvar is the safest and shortest route, and people from Leh region have been demanding the opening of this route for economic prosperity as well,” she said.
Bakshi said this will boost the state tourism who will get more options to get high on adventure and adrenaline in Ladakh, the high-altitude cold desert in Jammu and Kashmir.
“ We request government to open more areas which can benefit of tourism industry in the state,” she said.
One of the most beautiful landscapes in the state, Ladakh has mostly been accessible to locals and tourists due to the difficult roads and the long journey from Srinagar.Between 3 to 5 lakh tourists visited Ladakh every year. The tourism boom has brought visible economic prosperity in Ladakh.
